Academic Stages
De Paul School has academic stages viz. Pre-Primary, Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary. A pupil Desirous of continuing in the school at the completion of each stage needs to take the re-registration to the school.
Medium of instruction
The school was founded by the Vincentian Orissa Society in 2014, under the guidance of Rev. Dr. Joseph Maniangat, C.M., with Rev. Fr. Joseph Kochuparaambil, C.M., as its first principal. De Paul is a co-educational English Medium school from Play House to XII.
Academic Year & Curiculum
The academic year 2021-2022 begins in the month of April 2021. The school follows the syllabus of ICSE, Delhi. The academic year 2021-2022 consists of two semesters April to September (1st Semester) and October to March (2nd Semester).
Admission and Withdrawal
- Nobody can claim admission as a matter of right and the school authorities can refuse admission without assigning any reason.
- Every child seeking admission must be introduced in person to the school authority by his/her parents/Legal guardians.
- Parents whose children are selected for admission should fill up and present the admission form together with the transfer certificate of the child and other necessary documents from the school he/she last attended. Those students who come from a State outside West Bengal should have their Transfer Certificate countersigned by the education officer of that place. Name and date of birth endorsed by a competent authority is to be submitted at the time of first admission. Once name and date are entered in the admission register they will not be altered.
- Application for T.C. along with prescribed fee of Rs 100/- (one hundred) only should be submitted in the office at least 10 days before the T.C. is to be issued. However, a full calendar month's notice should be given in writing to the Principal, otherwise fee will be charged for the month following that which the child leaves. Transfer certificate will be issued only after the dues are cleared.
- School Authorities have the right to refuse admission or continuation of the studies to any candidate / student whose conduct, attendance or progress in studies is unsatisfactory. Such As: Behavioral problem.
- Moral breach considered to be serious by the school authority.
- Involving in activities that are detrimental to the unity integrity and secular spirit of the country.
- Constant weakness in studies.
- Irregularity in payment of school fees.
- Habitual Late coming.
- Once admitted the deposit will not be refunded in case of withdrawal.
Assessment and Promotion
- The progress of a student is determined by means of regular tests and term examinations. A regular record (progress report) showing the results of these tests and examination together with the statement regarding the conduct and progress of each student will be given to the parents at the end of each examination. Reasons for the absence for an examination or test should be intimated to the Principal through the class teacher without delay. They are to be certified by the parent. In case of illness a valid medical certificate should be produced when so required by the Principal.
- Promotion depends on the student's performance in the Tests and the term examinations along with the other works and activities allotted to him / her throughout the year. At the final weight age score every student is required to obtain a minimum of 40% of marks in all the subject individually.
- In principle minimum 80% attendance is required for promotion to next higher class.
- The result declared at the end of the year are final in all cases and will not be reconsidered. The result published cannot be challenged in any court of law.
- The answer scripts of annual examination will not be shown to the parents/guardians as routine.
- In all matters related to the admission/examination/promotion of students, the decision of management is final and binding.
- Students who resort to malpractice will be debarred from the rest of the examination. This may even lead to the dismissal of the student from the school.
- Students absenting themselves from the examination or tests will not be re examined.
- No student who fails twice in the same class will not be allowed to continue in school.
- Students will not be allowed to take the annual examination unless all dues are cleared for the year.
- A student failing in same class does not remain on the roll unless parents/guardians inform in writing to the Principal before the re-opening that the student wishes to continue in the school.
- Surprise test will be conducted to keep the study spirit alive always among students.
